Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst Dies by Suicide

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Miss USA 2019, Cheslie Kryst.

Cheslie was, up to the time of her death, a lawyer who championed for the rights of the undeserved, and an advocate for social justice.

Indeed her Instagram to this very hour remains a black arm, a symbol for Black Lives Matter

Besides being a lawyer, Cheslie was a corespondent for EXTRA, a lively and bubbly one for that matter.

She has, on multiple occasions, been a host for subsequent Miss Universe events, and was considered one of the most successful pageant queens of our time.

Ms Kryst reportedly jumped off a high rise building in Manhattan, the same building where she stayed.

Law enforcement officers have identified the body as hers.

The family has further released a statement, and requested for privacy as they process the heavy news of the loss of their kin.

A note was found in her hands, that bequeathed eveything she owned to her mum.

The note did not, however, reveal the circumstances or motivation for the apparent suicide.

Her last Instagram posts, posted just hours before the tragic fall, is captioned

“MAY YOU FIND REST AND PEACE”

People have read into this as a subtle message of goodbye.

We believe Beauty Pageants Kenya speaks for a majority of pageant fans all over the world when we say we are shocked and saddened beyond belief by the passing of Cheslie.

She was a role model to many, and we wish we had told her the same over and over agains when she could still read our comments.

Her death is a wake up call to be kinder and to renew conversations surrounding mentak health and access to proper interventions for people who have become victims of mental illnesses.

May you rest in peace, Cheslie Kryst
